Terry Bradshaw has more superbowl wins and is in the hall as compared to many other NFL QBs, which make more endorsement $$. More talent does not equate to more endorsements.
On that very subject, google “Paige Spiranac”. Fox News was right on top of this story, an enviable position if you get what I mean. Note the picture of Paige wearing a black T-shirt and a short blue dress. I suddenly became interested in the LPGA.
Both Serena and Sharapova likely hated Anna Kournikova…if you’re going to lose out on endorsement money, it should go to someone who’s at least won ONE tournament and Kournikova couldn’t even do that. It was probably the same with LPGA golfers and Laura Baugh.
I think Serena Williams is one of the best female tennis players ever. I am a big fan. I can’t stand to watch Sharapova and her ilk because of the garrulous grunting and groaning !That said, Sharapova, with her model’s figure, gets the thumbs up for clothing endorsements. The 5 ton elephant in the room ( Forgive me Serena ) is the " bubble butt " ! Very hard to design flattering clothes around ( pardon the pun) it.
Do you really think the word WHITE needs to be in the wording? How many pretty BLACK blondes do you know? It is not a racial issue. Look at the other reasons that have been brought up.
strictures: On the other hand, average (normal) appearance, negligible endorsements, and long dead, The Mildred (the Babe) Dikrikson Zaharias and Jim Thorpe are both more fondly remembered than any of the current crop.
Maria S. gets endorsement money because she actually endorses things as well as has multiple business lines which she actively works. She’s a sure things for businesses – always out meeting the fans and fronting for those who’ll provide endorsements.
Serena has never been willing to do that. That doesn’t mean she’s wrong for not doing so but it means her options to get endorsement money is less.
Speaking only for myself, I will not be sending Serena Williams any sympathy cards and/or loose change because of her relative lack of endorsement income compared to Maria Sharapova. Ms. Williams is one of the best female tennis players ever, if not the best. Ms. Sharapova need apologize to no one for not winning as many tournaments as Ms. Williams. Each presumably maximizes her skills, talents, and attributes. Each is a superb athlete. I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone feels the need to carp about the decisions make by marketers and advertising people who presumably know their business.

If you were marketing to a female consumer, which of the two would you rather have as an endorser?

Transphobic. Not just rude. This is the sort of thing the strip is hinting it. Nice example.
