The Buckets by Greg Cravens for August 03, 2015
Transcript:
Have you started packing for Alaska? How can I? I don't know what I'll need. You said I can't take a knife forebears. And I should download new music, or use old playlists? Do I pack back issues of gamer magazine, or will the new issue arrived before we go? Laptop or iPad? How can I decide? You might try packing some pants, shirts, underwear and socks.

Clothes? Geez, Mom, there’s more important stuff to bring than clothes. Besides, that’s your job. Now, which DS system and which games should he bring?

My sons would just tell me they’ll wear the same clothes the whole time. They were thankful that I made them bring jackets when we went to the Rocky Mountains in May several years ago. Especially when it started snowing! (I insisted on a few changes of clothing also.)

That boy needs some time in the Boy Scouts, and the sooner the better. Find him a troop that does a lot of hiking and camping instead of that quasi-militaristic stuff.

Maybe bring a club or baseball bat for the blackflies? And a shotgun if it’s elk fly season.
