Perhaps the fact that this comic was posted eight minutes ago has something to do with that. Or else they’re just aware that these are reruns, you nitwit.
There’s not much to comment on. The same GT who would (appropriately) lampoon every folly of the previous admininstrations has more and better material to work with than ever, and yet the silence is deafening as he deflects awayt into reruns.
To be fair, Peanuts is in reruns too, but at least Charles Schultz has the excuse of being dead.
Most Doonesbury followers on this post seem to agree that GT is merely treading water with these reruns. But GT is pretty careful to time his strips, even the repeats. He knows commencement season is on the minds of his readers–at least those who’ve earned a diploma and, every year at this time, are asked what difference an education makes.
This commencement arc isn’t for someone who, like Zipper, only craves novelty and never reflects on the pseudo-knowledge he gleans from one trash bin (Faux news?) or another. The “Senior” sitting next to him, having earned a diploma, has discovered the difference between real knowledge and mere novelty (Faux news).
You can’t be wise, according to Socrates, unless you’re curious about the things you don’t know. Zipper seeks only what entertains HIM. Far from being interested in what he doesn’t know or hasn’t experienced, he’s repelled and bored by it.
hey, russell-i AM burned out! That’s why i’m reading comics at this time on a weekday! Going back to college by the way but won’t be auditing anything!
Subs cost money, Mon. As the Navy. The minute they found out how to do reruns late night, watchers were doomed to repeats and the Networks were doomed to wonder why everyone went to cable until cable got the idea, too.

Resourcefulness. Perserverance. Focus. Discipline. Unwavering dedication…
…and Zipper doesn’t possess a single one of them!
