    Rats get a bad rap for the Black Death. It was actually poor living conditions & hygiene. And mostly the mice. But they’re cuter & had a better PR firm.

    The culprit in the transmission of Plague in the 14th century was a flea, Xenopsylla cheopsis, which killed more rats than humans. So, it’s true…the rats got a bad rap.
