Another late night…. but I have to comment on this lovely poster by StelBel…

in the June 4th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”

You’ve already been directed to Sherpa…

I hadn’t heard of Tarhound Basseton… but he sure makes a wonderful Elhound John.

I read that he even did his own howling!

And in spite of their short basset legs, both he and the real Elhound John play full size pianos!

It’s hard to take the role of a living legend…

knowing that the eyes and nose of the real star will be sizing you up.

But I hear the real Elhound John had a paw in this film..

he didn’t write the screenplay but he DID tell the author to be truly honest…

so the scenes of him being a bad dog, or gobbling excess Milkbones… even trying (gasp) catnip… are true to life.

It says “coming August 8th”…. but I believe that was last August, and it’s actually coming to the BassetPlexII next week.

We should have an easier time getting passes for this run….

I’ll try to make another deal with the manager….

Sooo glad it’s a virtual theater so we can all go together!

I’ll also find out whether we need to wear virtual masks.

I doubt it cos we can probably sit six feet apart… except that makes it harder to share the kibblecorn….

and the BassetPlex Theaters have such good kibblecorn.

Of course humans copied this film, as they do most basset movies.

But for some reason, the human actor was dressed as though it were rehearsal.

Here’s one in full costume…. still doesn’t hold a candle (in the wind?) to the basset version, but it’s a bit more like Stel’s.
