The head of a company is also not responsible for for what top management does, including his/her own actions, because it’s all done by the corporation, which is legally the “person” who committed all actions. At least that’s the way US law works these days. If there are any legal fines, the shareholders pay, and the top guys still get their bonuses when the corporation’s illegal activities are profitable.
The governor of Florida ran a company which committed the largest Medicare fraud in the history of the program. He ran for office on his success as a businessman while swearing he knew nothing about what his managers did. Trump is just using the same template, hoping that the rest of the nation is as ignorant as we are in the Sunshine State.
During his last election run, Ted Kennedy was asked why he did not pay for health insurance for the thousands of low paid workers used in supporting his real estate holdings.
His answer was their services were obtains through a contractor therefor not his responsibility.
His answer was good enough for the public and the press.
This proves that it is OK to squeeze the little guy if you are a Democrat billionaire but not if you are a Republican billionaire.

Aww, Trump already said that he was ‘working hard, very hard indeed’, to ensure that there were NO illegals working for any of his enterprises.
Some would just call that preserving your deniability, but Fox “news” viewers know he is telling the absolute truth.
Oh, and the bible is his favorite book — even more than the one that has all the bankruptcy laws.

FWIW, it was the contractor who hired the illegal, not Trump.

Day laborers usually wait around those types of stores. Choose which laborers you want from the crowd, hire them for a day, and they do whatever job.
