Clearly, Calvin didn’t evaluate the advantages of his weapons very well. Neither did the Americans in Vietnam, and I’ve met a lot of Vets of that war in Hay River, NWT of all places.

General McAuliffe, later in life, said he wished he had never sent that answer because people said “Nuts” to him so many times that it finally became an aggravation to him.

Reading the second and third panels, I was certain Hobbes was going to reach out and whack Calvin with his “long and floppy, impossible to throw the slightest distance” balloon!

The 4th panel surprised me… although it shouldn’t have because I am certain I saw this Calvin strip when it first ran ???! I have been a C&H fan for a very long time…

GoComics seems to be in a freeze-thaw process this morning…

Looks like Calvin dropped his weapon. You never know when a geyser may erupt. In this case, Calvin was standing too close to Old Face-Full.
