Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for August 15, 2015
August 14, 2015

Transcript:
Calvin: "To help mom prepare better meals, I'm compiling a book of recipes"
Hobbes: "I notice that all of them involve deep-fat frying"
Calvin: "I'm adding a chocolate syrup section now"
It looks fine, but fat and sweet!. We do this with apples. We make a batter with milk, flour and eggs and dip the apple slices in to coat them and bake them in a pan with oil. With apples it’s better for health!!
And while checking said rates, remember that today’s kids eat far less deep-fried food than any generation before them; the obesity isn’t from what they eat, it’s from video games, stupid phones, etc, that turn them into inert blobs rather actual, moving children.
So am I. Very seldom I eat too much. I have many friends, they like cooking and invite me. They are insulted when I don’t eat, when they endeavoured and I don’t eat. But at home a am very cautious.
Are you Type 1 or Type 2? I’m Type 2, which is usually a direct result of obesity. Type 1 isn’t — it is usually present from birth or early childhood and has nothing to do with obesity.

@RootsinDM My 3 major food groups are fat, alcohol and caffeine. Obviously, 2 out 3 aren’t appropriate for a 6 year-old.

They’ve served deep-fried butter, deep-fried Coke, and deep-fried beer at the Texas State Fair. All developed by the same guy.

In South Carolina that would be the menu on many restaurants. But that’s also why they have the highest rate of heart disease.
