China is not communist anymore and corporations are not free either. They just rely on ruthless government to do the dirty work they can’t do in the free world.

^ I believe with that particular situation their pay was significantly less than similar companies relatively nearby so it just brings them up to competitive salaries.
Last year in China the #1 song was about a pretty girl who worked in a factory and all the boys admired her for how hard she worked and how she forsook them all for her devotion to her job .
