Where’s that Hollywood Blockbuster with the bomb that implodes the well into itself? Surely they can produce a trilogy by the time BP finishes the job.

The Russians have stated that they successfully used a small nuclear device to shutdown an overflowing well. Somehow that seems a bit drastic.

Next up: Operation Crazy Clock. If that fails: Operation Fish Bait.

How about taking all the money BP is paying out in dividends and executive bonuses and stuffing it down the well. That would plug it for sure and the folks who’ve lost their business to BP could gather up any overflow.

Yeah, as the nuclear expert explained, you can have the oil that will take decades to clean up or you can nuke the oceanic floor and leave behind stuff like strontium 90 that well take centuries to clear up.

USSR bombs were in uninhabited areas.

A bomb placed in the ocean section may well open up new fissures with more leaks and them we have to go again.

My old history prof once explained how we could have helped the French at Dien Bien Phu and stopped the Vietnam War from ever happening by using tactical nukes in the mountains around the battle and wiping out the Cong.

He was unhappy when I asked if they were so successful, why didn’t we use them during OUR war ( which was going on then.)

“Well, our men would be at risk.”

Again, I have to ask, why are the neo-cons suggesting we have the government step in? I thought it was against their religion.

Saw a BP station the other day. No one was buying gas, just going in to buy drinks and snacks.

Hmm, no one’s mentioned that the referent is Mousetrap. Are they avoiding stating the obvious, or am I just too old?

    Yes to both.

The junk shot ploy could also be called “KerPlunk!”
