Sometimes, when the competitive spirit kicks in, we tend to not think with our brain but with our ego.

I’m not sure it’s letting the ego kick in - I think it’s just being in the moment. Plus I’m fairly certain the guy did not intend to break his leg for the little cup. I’m sure it happened while he was making a play. When you’re in the heat of the moment, you simply let yourself go. Which, by the way, is one of the main points of playing a sport – it’s one of the few places where you can do it.

So thanks, woman, for really caring about the guy and his leg and instead jumping to default mode of criticizing.

Lets see, in the 70s I climbed trees for $5/hr. Didn’t think about getting hurt. I’m going to worry about a ball game?.

Hey cdward. have you ever read this strip where the man is NOT put down? I think in the time I’ve read this strip there have been maybe a handful where the guy isn’t an idiot. I wonder what kind of dads these two had…

And, I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly!

Men in comic strips are idiots because it’s safe to make them so. I, for one, don’t mind in the least. I’m a man, and I can take a joke. We still get 90% of the breaks in life, and we can get away with lots of behavior that a woman would be pilloried for.

Suck it up, guys. You’re whining like little girls.

Careful, fritzoid, you could get in trouble stereotyping little girls. XD

joefish25, you need to read it every day, not just the “hack on men” days. The butt of the joke is male about 45% of the time, female about 40% of the time, and both parents of a smarter child the other 15% of the time.

The reason it’s the man more often than the woman is because (a) let’s face it, we’re goofier than women; and (b) women are scarier than men when they’re angry.
