I’m thankful that a) my parents didn’t do this, ‘cuz I’d be broke (I got mostly B’s & C’s), and b) we don’t do it to our daughters…‘cuz we’d be broke (they both get straight A’s)!
I got 25 cents per A. (I know that’s practically nothing but I grew up in the 60’s). It wasn’t enough to break my parents but it was a nice bit of change to go buy myself something.
Back when I was married, I had the most idiotic step-daughter! She wanted a cell phone! After I was finished laughing, I told her "Just show me one A on your report card, and I’ll get you a cell phone! The dumb girl could not even do that! I mean, what kind of girl gets a C- in Gym?!?

Parents do pay kits for grades.. its called a bed, food, clothes, heat.
learn in school.. or get a low paying job.. kids choice.
I have had a job since I was 12… part time till 16.

I got the heck out of the house asap. It was dysfunctional.
It was merely a house, not a home.
My parents were clinically insane. I should have been adopted.

Wasn’t paid anything for school work. Just summer work @ the ol highway dept. Earned enough for a portable stereo record player way back in 64.
