He is, all over the place, but be careful about the people who claim to be his “friend,” he might not recognize all of them on judgment day. Check it our in Matthew 25.
Hey, I went on facebook once for some unknown reason. Never went back. For all I know the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything is there. Don’t tell me about 42, cause I don’t want to have to buy a Mac.
Did you know that God loves the PC, no matter how they mess up.
Since it’s coming up in the lectionary, when Jesus eats at the house of Simon the Pharisee (Luke 7: 36-50), Simon said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.” Well, Jesus did know who and what she was–but as a prophet par excellence, he did not respond as Simon thought he should. Which is why Jesus is friends of sinners and tax collectors–and why so many members of the various churches are (gasp!) sinners.
If we were perfect, we would not need the church–but we would have compassion on sinners, and stay to help them anyway.
I don’t have a problem with Mike Morgan trying to poke fun at my church–if his criticism is accurate, it’s a gentle, funny prod to reform, to return to Christ and the Gospel, to the true tradition in the Spirit. If his criticism is inaccurate, well, I just let it pass to those who are intended to get the message. I aspire to a sense of humor like God’s.
Not to be pedantic, Joe, but “pedant” as “teacher” has become an obscure usage. The more modern meaning (most of the last century) is someone overly concerned with minutiae and trivial detail, often at the expense of real meaning or understanding.
I don’t think anyone has anything against you personally; at least I don’t. It’s the, “I’m right, you’re wrong, and I’m smarter than you are!” comments that grate on me.
Joe, hate is a very harsh and often misused word. It is difficult for most people to hate someone they have never met. Not liking what someone says does not translate into hate for that person. Getting defensive only brings more of the negative reaction upon ones self. When you think someone is being nasty to you, why do you feel the need to retaliate with so much anger. You talk about the imagination of someone else in reference to how they feel, but that is not possible for your imagination to be running wild? Don’t they call that “double standards”?
I don’t understand it and that is why I am asking. If you didn’t reply, what difference would it matter.
You complain to others about how they are treating you and yet in those posts in which you complain in, you do the same thing. Doesn’t make sense to complain about what you yourself are doing.
I have enjoyed some of your posts, but in other you do appear to be bragging. Not everybody that feels that way can be wrong. Some posts towards you are mean even by my standards but it does not mean that your replies are right. Just my opinion, sir. And that is thinking veteran to veteran, if you catch my drift.
My post didn’t have anything to do with religion whatsoever. I never once mentioned religion. It was in reference to you stating “You folks who hate me ought to keep your thoughts to yourselves” and saying that other people imaginations make them believe something when you are doing the same thing.
I don’t think you will find anywhere in my post where I made a connection between your personal relationship and the Military. I was trying to be nice in my post but by you first question, I guess that didn’t work.
I have been a Believer by my choice since I decided to go that way. Unless I am mistaken, you did the same. But again, that had nothing to do with my post. Don’t you get on others for putting words in your mouth?
As far as the veteran statement, I am very proud of what I did in the military and to have served just like you did. I will state that and reach out to any brother who has been in the military. That’s what the last statement meant, Joe.

I’ve always thought that the people to steer clear of were the ones that know where Jesus is and what he wants.

Jesus needs fewer “friends” and more followers. :)
