Our kids were growing, and needing new clothes on a regular basis. We told them that we’d get new clothes when their rooms were cleaned to where we could vacuum in there. (with appropriate demonstrations) They grew through two whole sizes before they decided that they needed to clean up.

Why on earth are you cleaning a kid’s room. Kid’s are required to keep their rooms clean or they lose privileges, possessions and time.
