It is a balancing act with trees. They reduce heating and cooling costs(important these days), their root systems slow rain water runoff allowing it to percolate into the soil, clear the air, and produce oxygen for us. They provide food for us and wildlife. Use a leaf blower/vacuum to remove leaves in the fall. Compost the leaves to enrich garden soil. Compromise, thin the trees’ branches to let the sun filter through.
