My daughter has a guy friend. It’s strictly platonic; she’s even helped him meet a girl that he likes. However, he bought my daughter her Senior t-shirt, has gotten her a full set of Magic: the Gathering cards, & often brings her “Circus Peanuts”, which she loves. I’ve told her that I get that they’re platonic, but (to use the modern vernacular) I “ship” them.
