When I was 10 I found all my Christmas presents in a bag in my parents’ closet. They hadn’t been wrapped yet. I saw everything I was getting ahead of time. On Christmas morning I was hoping there was just one thing I’d missed so I’d have at least one surprise but no. I never snooped again. Jeri is wrong as usual.

My husband works 3rd shift so we always wait for him to come home on Christmas morning to open our presents. My daughters & I, because we naturally wake up super-early on Christmas morning, usually watch some specials until he comes home.

Even as a kid I could never understand why anyone would want to peek at their presents. Christmas comes only once a year. It seems like it takes forever to arrive, and once the day finally comes it’s over with before you know it. Then the long wait begins again. So why spoil it?

When I was five it seemed like Christmas would never arrive. Now that I am retirement age, it’s “What? Christmas ALREADY??”
