Be thankful Tess. In a few years she will grunt and say “fine” and “yeah whatever” like every teenager when you try to get her to tell you about her day.
I would never respond like that to my daughters, no matter how busy I was. What I would do is ask them if they could hold it until I was done so that I could give them my full attention. It didn’t matter if it was them telling me a pretend story about their stuffies or something that happened to them in school. As a result, our lines of communication are always open.
