Beware that you don’t realize what you may be suggesting. Especially if it is to an imaginative person. And if that person is your child, don’t punish them for the consequences. Do make sure they understand how what they have done is a problem, if it is, but let it be a lesson to both of you.
My kiddo was given an assignment in 5th grade to make a so-called “Native American artifact” out of things found in your yard. I don’t know what other people’s yards contain, but dirt, grass, small rocks and a few twigs don’t make much of anything. Which makes me wonder how Teena’s dad thinks she can build a treehouse out of “any old thing” she finds in the yard.
I banged most of the boards off the fence, ( which turned out to be the neighbour’s fence ) to make a fort when I was a kid. Neighbour reamed me out and then my Dad when he got home from work. I was "spoken to " , my Dad fixed the fence and all was forgiven .
