Bug Blog by Cuco Rocha King Taco Republican congressman & anti-immigrant bozo Steve King said he was just as "Hispanic or Latino" as Secretary of HUD Julian Castro. It's true, Steve King is so Mexican, his real name is Esteban Reyes.
Well, I’m part Irish, and the Irish Celts came over from Spain, so…The thing is, we are all descended from Black Africans about 100,000 years ago. Call me when Steve King owns that one.
Judging a person by the spelling of their name or physical appearance is no different than judging a person by the color of their skin.
Former Mexican president Fox could pass for an American corporate leader as could most of the leaders in Mexico.
Former American Ambassador to the UN, Bill Richardson’s family, was from Mexico. Light skinned blond singer Debora Car was Mexican. The typical sounding Spanish name of Quiroz is Portuguese not Spanish.
Mexico is a very racially and cultural divers country with many languages etc. Lumping them all under the term Latino is politically correct and intellectually sophisticate but it is insult to many Mexican and is incorrect
When you lump people as divers as Yaqui Indian, Triqui Indians who are still at war with the Mexican government(see Economist August 7th, 2010.), Oriental Mexicans, Catalans, who have a large community in Mexico etc all under one term of Latino, you are denying their diversity.
It is proper and common to refer to Mexican as the Brown race. This is judging people by their color of their skin. I was raised in party in Mexico by my mostly white Mexican family who violently denied that we are part Tarahumara and Papago(from the Altar region). They are the worst racist I have know.
I am trying to point out that calling Mexican as the Brown race is very wrong and a denial of their diversity.
PS1 If you want a copy of the Economist describing the Mexican goverement (they deny it is their war), send me your FAX number and I will FAX you a copy.
PS2 What does the term güeros mean. I have never heard the term either in the USA or in Mexico.

Couldn’t find the quote, but I think it was Lee Trevino who said there are no poor Mexicans — when they get a lot of money, they become Spanish.
