This is the photo in the Workbasket magazine circa 1990. Misty was a good model and her pictures won a lot of ribbons at the fair over the years. Now that I can upload I will try to do the other artwork too.
Fantastic comments and photo everyone. Too many for me to comment on. We have a very talented group of cat lovers here.@ Dry and Dusty, I think that Chesney wants to psychoanalyze Annie, lolI wish I got as good pay for MY work! ;-)
GweedoAgain with the Witness Protection? HahaLovely yard, although I would be found sitting on that swing when the first snowfall comes, It looks sooo peaceful.I love looking at your travel pictures, kinda like we went with you!
QueenMoose sort of gets the idea of baby sitting, although if it were for real you could only be gone for 10 minutes!Did he come for the company or the food? kinda like some people I know. LOL
Still learning. Yes they re both of Misty. We lost her to heart failure in 2007.The painting is watercolors with pen-and-ink over that. The picture is about 5×8″, larger with the frame. The article shows the photo that the painting was made from.
MoreCatsI too wanted to hug the leopard, poor baby she needs lovin’! looks like she is getting it! Bless all the animal workers, hard, dirty (sometimes very dirty) jobs without not a lot of thanks, and then you see a pic like that one!
This is what I found out. They are called big cats and are more closely related to the Lynx. They hunt in breeding groups and eat monkeys, birds fish and goats, The cubs are born 100 days from mating, They can climb down a tree head first! They are endangered.
They can be seen at the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, the Nationat Zoo and the Denver Zoo to name a few.
Last night, my cats were running from their perch in the bedroom window to their perch in the basement window, all excited about something in the backyard. I went to see what had them all crazy, and saw a kitten wandering through our yard – looked to be only about 2 months old. We live in a busy neighborhood, and worried the little thing would get into trouble, so my husband & I went out to try to call it to us, but it disappeared, probably into a neighbor’s yard. When we went back inside, both our boys were staring up at us expectantly, as if to say “Did you get it?! Where’s the kitten??!” They actually seemed really disappointed that we came back without it. I’m hoping it will come back again, so we can see if it’s already too feral, or if it might be adoptable – it looks to still be young enough to learn to trust people.
I only got two visits yesterday, and no donations. Im not letting it get me down, i know now that funding is going to come in, in spurts…BUT!The good news!I got in contact with the Newspaper in Newport Oregon, the News Times, and they sounded interested in doing a story for me.I overheard the receptionist speaking with an editor and he said that it sounded like it could be a good story. He sent a reporter out to speak with me.WOO HOO!SHE sounded interested!WOO HOO!Also, i received three cash donations today. Every time i go to do my volunteering at the animal shelter i stop in at Pirate Coffee in Depoe Bay and get a cup of coffee to go. One of the baristas there gives me my coffee if she is there, and when she found out what i was doing, she dumped out her tip jar and gave it to me. The only bad thing was that it was early in the morning. Still, two dollars is still two dollars. After speaking with the newspaper i had lunch with a couple of ladies from my old grief support group. One gave me $20 and the other gave me $5WOO HOO!made me feel like I’m still on track. And all three said that they were going to spread the word.WOO HOO!Im a happy, happy, happy boy!
Awwww, shucks, Eldo. That was even nastier than me putting the bag over my shy head…and I thought that was not very nice either. Now you go and do even worse,,and after the fact, at that!!
Great pictures today! The other day I was sitting down doing something and I started to whistle a tune. My black cat Sheba came up to me, eyes huge, >^OO^< put a paw on my knee and looked at me as if to say," I’ve never heard you make this noise before, are you ok?" I assured her I was and it made me laugh. Great pictures Gweedo and continued safe journey. >^..^<

Is that a painting or needlework, like crewel? It is gorgeous. That is “Misty” I assume.
