I started reading Liitle Orphan Annie as a child c. 74 years ago. I realized later that that strip was packed to the gills with politics, but didn’t realize it at the time.

MaxStarmanJonesNo, and neither is short-term memory loss – it is remembering names. And who are you again?

Just a bit of whimsy: pretending to be a TV cooking show star for your cat.

The cat can’t have the shrimp – he put garlic in the oil – not good for cats.

Many pets “understand” us—-after years of saying the same things over and over. I had a cat who had a vocabulary (she understood) about 17 different words. Want?_____.Want was understood, the blank could be shrimp, tuna, chicken, beef, etc. She understood BEFORE I opened the fridge and started cooking. Granted, most of her words referred to food, but “pet”/“scritchdee” (you could choose any word/phrase you wished to) “Daddy got a bag.” (fast food—sit at door from garage!)They are smart enough to understand, even if they can’t smell what you’re speaking about. ;-D
