Years ago I had a friend who left the police department bomb squad to become a professional golfer. He was on the “tour” for a couple of years before landing a teaching pro job at a golf club in Florida. He told me that he experienced more pressure on the tour than he ever did diffusing a bomb. He said that when you know that making your next putt is going to be the difference between sleeping in a motel room or your car, than you’ll understand the pressures of professional golf.
