Calvin: "For show and tell, I brought a little toy airplane" Calvin: "It's sort of ordinary, I suppose, but I like to have it around" Calvin: "It reminds me that as soon as I save a little more money, I'll buy a ticket and put so much distance between you chumps and me, it will boggle yours minds!" Calvin: "It's not an "attitude," it's a FACT!"

There is nothing wrong with Calvin setting goals for himself.

I like his posture in the last frame. Adults sometimes simply don’t understand.

Calvin, that looks like a combat aircraft. You know those are not allowed in this school. We’ve called the police.

As if the faculty and class wouldn’t chip in for his ticket if they thought he would.

Calvin’s posture in the last panel is what is known as having “arms akimbo.” (Note: be careful not to talk about people having “arms and legs akimbo.” If that is even possible, it would require a contortionist!)

When I was in school, I took an empty Ivory dish soap container and using a piece of small diameter white nylon rope about 2 feet long, stuffed the rope through the small opening of the plastic bottle and tied both ends into a knot; one on the inside and one on the outside of the bottle!
When you squeezed the container, the rope would “squirt” out and it looked just like the real dish soap! I thought it was cool to fool friends thinking they were just squirted with dish soap!
Unfortunately, one of the teachers didn’t think it was very funny, and confiscated my “toy” until the end of classes for the day…

How much is a “little” more money, Calvin? $50,000, $500,000? $5 mil?
Jeff0811 over 9 years ago
He crossed the line from fact to attitude at the word “chimps”. Up until then his argument was plausible.

I’m sure the other students would chip in to get him away sooner.

Regarding that lil’ brown kid in Texas and his ‘clock’ … I recognize it from a Heathkit from the late ’50’s.. Big deal.. so the kid can solder things and hook up a power supply. Pish-tosh. Something that anyone in Shop Class from 8th grade should be able to do. Not to brag, but when I (underlined) was his age, I was building radios and tearing down and fixing tractor motors. I never got an invite from HST at the time, for he was quite busy running a war, such as it was. Summation; another bowing apology to Muslims who ‘just might be carrying a bomb..’ But then again, ya never know.. the Caliphate may NOT be someone’s imagination.

If you ever want to make that much money, Calvin, you’ll pay more attention in school.
