Once again, Richard posted a blog entry for just this strip.

Grandmother Wars! What a concept. Or is it really a rivalry for bragging rights between Nara and Alice?

I had the same feeling, but now I am beginning to realize that I am old. So are you, Dr.

Ask you grand kids. They are always truthful to a fault.

Not a problem, just relax for what will seem like a year or two, and you won’t be just a grandparent anymore, you will be a great grandparent.

Alice’s grandma would also bring her hard-boiled eggs, methinks.

At least you remember them. Both my grandmothers were gone before I was five.My parents eloped. We were estranged from my mother’s father.Dad’s family lived miles away in a different state.

Tuesday I leave to see the grandkids in Wisconsin. #3 is celebrating her 13th on Thursday, and Halloween will be showing up on the 31st.. I’m hoping to be a great-grandma some day, but realistically will have to reach 92 or 93 or so, in 12 or 13 years. Not so realistic, because my ancestors and peer-relatives weren’t and aren’t into hitting 90. The “other grandpa” (my daughter’s father-in-law) was 80 when the current 9-year-old granddaughter (our “Alice”) was born, so he’s 89 now. (He has great-grands from his daughters, though.) Whatever, it’s been fun.Once again, thanks, mabrndt. It’s nice that the Mystery of the Missing Book was solved in the blog comments.
