A true classic strip. I’ve seen this one reprinted a lot.

Bonus points for those who can identify who Snoopy is talking to without Google.

Extra bonus points if you identify them and you are under 60 yrs old.

In the country, many dogs do chase—and kill—chickens, usually on someone else’s property. And indeed sheep. Chasing and “worrying” (attacking) sheep is grounds for having a dog euthanised in Wales and Australia.

Thank you Stan, Bobby, and Maurice. Refering to Stan Mikita, Bobby Orr, and Maurice who? Speaking of Stan Mikita, do you remember the STAN MIKITA DONUT SHOP in the 1992 movie “Wayne’s World”?

As a fan of the animation from the National Film Board of Canada I was well aware of Maurice Richard due to their excellent short based on the famous book, “The Hockey Sweater.”The Sweater

I watched Maurice #9 play from seats behind the goal. Even have a MR action figure, lost the stick, but he didn’t always need one to deal with the opposition. So the most popular coffee in Canada (and soon the US) is named after a hockey player few know.

My cousin owns a farm and usually has 3 or 4 dogs. They have to be taught not to eat the chickens. Their main purpose is to act as ambulatory barking door bells to announce the arrival of people on the property and to prevent their entry by running in front of their cars.

However, they are also useful in dispatching egg-stealing animals such as rats and keeping the bunny population in check.

I’ve also learned. Never leave the car window open on a farm for any amount of time or you will find a chicken or two roosting on the seats.

@Snoopy_FanThis week has been better. I’ve been enjoying it at my Work Placement as usual. On Tuesday, I got a lot of calls! I like to keep busy though. Yes, “Volunteer Admin Assistant” does sound pretty fancy doesn’t it?-We call Resumés a “CV” here. It stands for “Curriculum Vitae” When we list our Work Experience… We only put the company we worked for and the month and year we started as well as listing what our tasks were in the job.-I’ve been a Retail Assistant, Voluntary Sales Assistant and now a Volunteer Admin Assistant. It might sound like I’ve done a lot but I haven’t. They weren’t paid jobs.-I’m glad you are enjoying Windows 10. I’ve had Windows 7 since I got my new laptop back in 2011. I’m not looking to upgrade at the moment.-This song is dedicated to you. You only have to listen to the lyrics to see why. The Beatles make me proud to be British. Link-I hope your weekend is fantastic.-Love you.

I believe the date on this strip is 1968 so it’s a bit early to be Bobby Orr. He had played a couple seasons by then but hadn’t become the high-scoring defenseman he would be just a couple years later. So it’s probably Mikita, Hull and Richard.

By the way, the Stan Mikita doughnut reference in Wayne’s World was a take-off on Tim Horton Doughnuts, founded by the former Leafs (also Rangers, Penguins and Sabres) defenseman and which, as Steve L said, is the most popular doughnut / coffee spot in Canada.
