Wow, a beagle in goggles ain’t weird to Franklin but celebrating Beethoven is? I mean as much as I like Lins’s enthusiasm for the Great Pumpkin I can absolutely see why some folks would think that a little strange. Schroder’s celebrating Beethoven is a lot more normal, but check out Franklin’s comment in that final panel. Ok, I’ll give you the count down to Beethoven’s birthday is a little over the top.
I find it interesting that everyone, except Peppermint Patty, calls him by his full name – Charlie Brown. Except for the Van Pelts, I’m not sure I ever knew the last names of the other characters.
Yeah, and only 69 more shopping days till Christmas:Today, October 17; through December 24, Christmas Eve — yep, only 69 more shopping days till Christmas!
People who are easily weirded out are so boring!! I quote George Weinberg: “What worse illness can there be than acute conventionality. You should pray every night that you don’t wake up with it.” I wonder what Franklin would have made of Pig-Pen… Instead of Schroeder, Schulz might have drawn Pig-Pen suffocating Franklin with his dust cloud – that would have been more effective, IMO.
So the original order of the strips was changed so that today’s strip would make Schroeder’s statement of 60 days until Beethoven’s birthday accurate. Cool!

60-61 more days until Beethoven’s Birthday, that is. 61 days for today – October 17, 2015; 60 days for tomorrow – October 18, 2015.

Shouldn’t he have said, “This neighborhood has me shaken.”?

At least Franklin knows that Snoopy is a Beagle and not a funny looking kid.

At least Franklin didn’t have to show his pass card to come into the neighborhood (see today’s DOONESBURY).

Also note that Schulz’s signature is in panel 3 instead of panel 4.
