Most all the weapons owned in the USA are owned by legal and law abiding hunters and marksmen. It’s the small few who make the horrifying information abroad. They make the news.
Most civilized countries restrict it to one rifle and one shotgun, both registered, if that, and have negligible firearm crime. I can generally outrun or dodge most other weapons, having never been attacked by arrow or atlatl.
Another fun fact, more than half of the Americans are women, and none of those women are Roman Catholic priests, though there are those who want to be.

In Chicago, which has some of the strictest gun control laws, the murder rate is higher than any other city. Gun control really doesn’t change much

I used to have a friend who swore more guns meant less violence. In that case, Yanks ought to live in complete safety.
