Alexikakos thank you for the link. He had prepared well for his voyage. Since he said he had contact with no one, I assume his food was not replenished during the trip. I would think he would have used some sort of de-salinator. He probably could collect rainwater, also. If he used 2 liters of water a day, that would have been almost half his food store weight.
