Ripley's Believe It or Not by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! for September 16, 2015
Transcript:
Since the Middle Ages, fewer than 100 cases of hypertrichosis, which means extra hair, have been recorded. Jimmy's Bakery in Yilan County, Taiwan, takes loaves of bread that look like watermelons- on sale for $100 a loaf! Bowhead whales can live for more than 200 years, and because their spine does not fuse, they never stop growing!

I thought that all of the great whale species never stopped growing.

$100 for a loaf of bread that looks like a watermelon? That’s ridiculous! I had a recipe for a cake where I could do that, though I never did make it. Any baker could probably do that and charge a lot less than $100. No way would I pay that just for a loaf of bread. I don’t care what it looks like.

Less than 100 recorded since the Middle Ages, and half of them were in a Walmart I went to last night. Go figure.

There is a family somewhere that has hypertrichosis, India I think. Wasn’t it in Ripley’s a few weeks ago?

When I miss a day or two shaving I get a little hypertrichotic…at least it looks that way in the mirror…

The watermelon bread: why couldn’t Sanae Furukawa of anime “Clannad” think of that?
