My mother lost her diamond….for months, she couldn’t find it. Searched garbage and everything. About a year later, we found it…she had put it on a shelf above the sink while washing the dishes and it had fallen into the dish rack utensil holder. And who ever would look in there?
This happened twice to my roommate, and both times I was the one to find the ring (she only wears one). We dug through both the kitchen and bathroom garbage, but I found the ring under the dining room table, alongside a couple of other things our cat likes to bat around.
I once lost my favorite ring (a moonstone set in silver) and finally found it months later when I was cleaning out my closet. I have no idea how it ended up there, but was I ever happy to recover it!
For my sister was a vendor at a civic center. She had taken her ring off to wash her hands after personal needs. Suddenly it disappeared she notified security ring was never found. My hubby lost his wedding ring slipped off his finger in a reduced grocery store. Never found again. We think someone found it and cashed it in for something bad. For me I cannot wear my ring one needs resized the other repaired and cannot do either. My weight is main issue why I cannot wear wedding ring.
My brother in-law was lucky to find his expensive mens diamond ring in a motel ice bucket he had been using while mixing drinks for others. The frequent dipping into the cold ice slightly shrunk his ring finger & slightly numbed it enough that he never felt the ring slip off.
My friend’s husband lost his wedding ring on he second day of their honeymoon. They never replaced it, either, but were waiting for renewal ceremony at the 5th anniversary, the marriage fell apart before that happened.
I just wear a simple gold band. It is only a symbol of the love that I bear for my incredibly wonderful wife of some 52+ years!
At this stage I think I would have to cut it and spread it to even get it off, but it is still just a symbol, and therefore easily expendible if necessary. Just why some people spend hugh amounts of money on such is quite beyond me!

From looking at your trash, you need to do a better job of recycling…

Nice of him to go through the garbage for her, no matter how much he was grumbling.
