Transcript:
Marigold: Mr. Marlow? Teacher: Yes, Phoebe: Phoebe: I have a wobbly chair, and it's gonna stop me from learning anything. Teacher: That seems melodramatic. Phoebe: Perhaps. But it stresses the urgency of my situation, and also sets expectations nice and low.

Phoebe has it WAY too easy. In middle school/junior high, the distractions and utter nonsense going on in most schools keeps most of the kids, even the really smart ones, from learning very much. I always wanted to see cameras or at least microphones in class, so neither the teacher nor the kids could get away with all the stupid behavior that goes on in a typical public school.

In my day, we enjoyed wobbly chairs, especially if we were class clowns! It’d be fun to see how much wobbling one could do before annoying the teacher who’d just yell, “Stop wobbling at once!” before answering that you couldn’t stop wobbling because the seat was wobbly and you could even demonstrate it! The teacher would get mad but not be able to say anything since such a chair would have been there before said student ever got there and they’d know about it. Ahhhh… the days of red faced teachers and threats of detention. Lol! :)

Great hints for fixing wobbly furniture! I tried fixing one of the tables in our break room by using the adjustable screws. This worked fine until some nincompoop who saw me do it readjusted it and wound up completely unscrewing the pad from the table. Rather than rescrewing the screw he set it on one of the counters in a corner. County maintenance supervisors determined it was faulty and needed to be tossed. One of my managers later suggested rotating wobbly tables until the legs line up with the wobbles on the floor!

Dude should either let his beard grow more or shave it off. When you leave it that tiny, it looks like a mistake.

I’d worry less about the chair and more about Mr. Marlow’s soul patch. That’s way more distracting

Just wobble in the chair all day the sound will annoy the teacher so he has to fix it.

Where is Marigold? She could magically repair that chair.

That bow tie almost makes him look like a young Bill Nye.
