Ludwig’s leaving dirt tracks all over the place?

Is that a litter box or a wash tub in the first panel. It is time for Arlo to switch to clump litter.

The strip is a reference to “The Great Escape” (the real-life event from which Stephen King stole this idea) and “The Shawshank Redemption” and how the prisoners were able to hide their tunneling by dumping small amounts of dirt through the pockets and down their pantlegs to the prison yard.

Like I tell my relatives who have cats, “Get rid of the cats!”

A pox on you petern0582! I love my cat. In my day I have had 6/8 of them. I put a pad down that catches most of the litter before she walks away. But Arlo is right! It does look like they are tunneling out.

We thought we were going to have to euth our cat yesterday, but the vet said she would try one more thing, and saved her.

I think my cats are doing the same thing Arlo.

I once used wood fuel pellets for litter, but found that the equine (horse) bedding pellets are even better. A 40 pound bag is about $5. Very little is tracked out, and it’s biodegradeable. I add it to the mulch on shrubs and flower beds. Better than adding another waste product to landfills.

those litter boxes with the small curved edge keep most of the scatter contained. If you own a cat you better have a broom handy.

I use the recycled newspaper pellets which have chlorophyll as an odor controller. It lasts longer than clay or clumping litter, doesn’t get tracked out, and, as Grainpaw does, can be used as biodegradable mulch.

My cats HATE clumping litter — they’ll use the carpet instead — so it’s their bathroom and I use what they prefer!

I tried that. My cats used to ‘leap’ over the rug onto the floor where they would proceed to track the litter all over the room.

Now, just to make people jealous, I’ll report that both my cats refuse to use kitty litter….Ha! They only want to do it outside! Even in the dead of winter…I never have to empty the kitty litter box…Unless I’m gone for a few days and they are locked inside…They were born in a field, and lived there until a friend of a friend found them, so it must be more comfortable for them……..But because of that, one doesn’t know how to drink water normally….She cups her paw and splashes it at her face aiming for her mouth! Man, does that make a mess…And pisses off her sister…..After Sparkle died, I was looking for two tortoise shell female kittens. I got two beautiful sisters….I sometimes go away for a while…Cat’s do get lonely, and I always feel kinda bad when l eave a cat home alone…Also, I think they each like having an ally when dealing with me…And yeah, they almost always win..

CharlyGirl, I’m glad to see that at least somebody reads all the comments first, before posting…..And, yeah, I’m a cat guy…Leonardo de Vinci said that the cat was Nature’s most perfect creature…Wouldn’t be awesome if cats had wings? I’d love to see that!….Watch out little birdies….

A 2×4 box-frame, rabbit-fence atop, old rug underneath, cat-box atop that, so that when the cat’s ‘done’ the ‘sand’ drops thru the rabbit fence and there’s no more barefoot curses in the middle of the night. Many more designs in hiding Cat’s Privys on line. Use your imagination once in a while. Jeez.My poor 18 y/o kitty would get agitated while in transit while ‘snowbirding’ but would settle down after the ordeal of motel living was over with.
