I don’t know if anyone will check the comments for yesterday’s strip, and I thought that I should post an item here, too.
My thanks to all who complimented me and liked my comment about Jimmy’s reference to “The Great Escape” and “The Shawshank Redemption.” You’re very kind.
I do miss the nights when I could sleep all night without getting up several times. Some times I go to sleep and am good for 45 minutes or so then I wake up and BAMM" I am awake for several hours, kind of like all I needed was a nap. ((sigh)).
I often wake up during the night, but usually go right back to sleep. Last night I dreamed that I was going to have brain surgery to cut down on my long-winded talking. “I’d rather not,” I told the surgeon. “I think I can regulate my talking.” He said, “There have been complaints about that.”“But I’m the one who mentioned that about myself,” I said.Hmm – wonder if that would cut down on the length of my GoComics entries . . .
Wow, can’t believe I made it to the 3rd comment before some pathetic perv had to comment on Janice being in a nightgown. There are some real losers here.
If I wake up at night and it’s not to use the bathroom, I get up to read and make my self tired enough to go back to sleep. If I ate anything, I’d really be awake.
To everyone who commented yesterday: Thank you! It took me reading all the comments to get it, having never really lived with a cat for any length of time. I would NEVER have gotten the reference, even though the scene of the POWs dumping the dirt in the yard is one of my favorites.
Lately I’ve been getting up during the night because the arthritus in my ankles acts up. I usually have to take a couple tylenol and read (or play games on my tablet) for a few minutes until the pain killers kick in and then I can get back to sleep for the rest of the night.
All right Jimmy; where’s the camera you have placed in our house. I mean, really! My wife and I have the exact same experiences. Including that cat of ours…he must be related to Luddie.

The joy of discovering that you can’t sleep anymore without waking up at least once.

3:00 in the morning, reading comics, and wishing there was a half gallon of ice cream to be had.
