This supposes that those who are being polled are only interested in the entertainment aspect of a candidate who’s a sociopathic, ignorant blowhard. Unfortunately, a very large chunk of the Republican party is made up of people who don’t realize that Trump is a sociopathic, ignorant blowhard. They think that publicly spoken hatred and lies are actually good for the country. This will continue until he says something that they don’t like, even if it’s true. They’ll turn on him in a heartbeat then.

What’s scary is that there are that many people even considering voting for him.

Leftists actually believe Obama has been beneficial in some way. Any Republican would be an improvement, even a leftist like Trump or Kasich.

He’s winning because there are a lot of closet racists in the country.

Dang it, Fry and Lewis. If you’ve been running a comic nonpolitically for 20 years, don’t start.

There are over 400 days before election day. I remember when we waited for the primaries to panic. I know cable news networks needs programing but this is worse than retail and Christmas shopping. I’ll worry when people actually vote for him.

Although the mess ON his head attracts a lot of attention, it’s the mess IN his head that scares the bejabbers out of people who are still sane. And I agree with RJ’s train-wreck explanation. The scary thing about that is that people are having their pockets picked, metaphorically, while they’re distracted by this very public exercise in mental illness.

Here’s a question: If Trump didn’t have a boatload of money, would his speech and behavior be tolerated by the media? The media who is ready to shred anyone who, for any reason, does not toe the PC line. And, if the media did not tolerate him but reported him in a negative light, would any ordinary citizen even think about him twice? I guess that’s two questions.

To those of you who wonder… We don’t do politics often, but we have always done it and we will continue to do it. Politics is a part of life. Hedge comments on all aspects of life. Also, judging by the always larger than normal response, politics sells. – Michael Fry

Are you Yanks ever going to elect someone who isn’t the village idiot? I think the last one who was halfways normal was Gerald Ford, and he wasn’t elected…

There are former Democrats among Trump’s supporters. He told Rolling Stone that his campaign hasn’t needed to spend a penny in ad buys because he’s the feature on all the political shows. He speaks to the people who really want to believe that our post-war prosperity and social stability can return. He’s just an old man, saying old man things, openly advocating for a return to his good old days.

It’s imaginary, of course. The 50’s aren’t coming back. No matter how far they try to roll back the social gains made in the past 60 years, white men will never again be the majority.

He has 25% of the polls, which just means 75% don’t like him.

I think you forgot that the other make up 100%. But, I do agree that many do like him. I think he a funny entertainer who uses his phrase, “I’m not gonna tell because I don’t want the opposition to know”Fun to watch but I’m not voting for him unless I had to!I really like Dr. Carson.
