Careful. Even after death a wasp can continue to sting for a while.

Okay, i have had it pointed out that my wording should be more precise. Obviously, after the wasp dies she is not going to chose to sting, but for a while there are still pulsating contractions which can and do happen, so if someone gets in the way of the stinger of a recently dead wasp, like if Herman ham handedly picks it up, a sting can happen. While assisting on a study long ago in Suriname i passed through a spot after others had riled a wasp nest, and took over thirty stings, many to my head and neck. Luckily, not a lot of those were facial. We still had to walk a long distance to our destination, then return to camp by an alternative route. I did almost nothing but sleep for about 24 hours afterward and decades later still have some of the cysts i got from stings that day. (My glasses were lost in the escape, but a fine friend braved the wasps and got them for me. Modern earpieces do a better job of keeping glasses in place when a head is being swung wildly.)
