Does anyone know why this strip swings from color to B&W and back so often? Just curious.

You failed to notice that these are the very oldest BC strips that were originally done in black & white? Same for Wizard of Id Classics, done also by the original artist Johnny Hart, who has since passed away. You didn’t notice either that the characters were drawn different than from the newer strips? Both strips are now being done by different comic artists, & are in color now.

Mastroianni & Hart are the present artists, with Hart being related to Johnny Hart. Some of the old ones have been upgraded to colored strips but not all.

Our local newspaper just last month upgraded to color comics, so all their comics were B&W.I love to watch how the drawing gets more sophisticated as the strip goes on. The artist gets better and better, and this is true with most strips.
