weather permitting, i have been riding a bicycle to help my balance and get exercise. i tried and inly made it all the way around the block once.some woman down the road yelled at me because my dog crapped in her yard. i said: “move back to the city.”
I know of places where the mailbox may be in a cluster as much as half a mile from the houses they serve — and in some cases the USPS can’t serve the house at all, and they have to provide free box service at the post office.
If your mailbox is in line of sight you can put a flag on a spring that will pop up when the door is opened, if if it’s too far away buy a cheap pair of binoculars and give it a look see, saves time and shoe leather especially in foul weather.
Our mailbox is on the other side of the road, at the end of our driveway. Our driveway does curve around; but fortunately, it is not as long as this Plugger’s…
We finally found a mailbox alarm that buzzes inside the house when the mailbox is opened. Saves a lot of futile trips, since we never know when the mailman will be by.
Heck, if I still had a subscription to Playboy, I wouldn’t want it out either! Not because someone else might enjoy the content; but because by the time I’d get it back the pages would be all wrinkled. BTW, my wife bought me the original subscription close to 44 years ago…

I drive to mine. It’s 10 miles away. It’s a box at the Stockyards Post Office in Denver and live in Aurora.

A lot of the time, we don’t have to go anywhere to collect our mail. Either my sis-in-law or nephew will deliver it to us ! ! !
