I’ve often wanted to reprogram my computer with an axe.

I’m about this far from “hacking” my own computers!

Sweet, blushing Broomie! I cannot tell a lie, Gaylord; I took my axe and adjusted your computer 40 whacks!

Oh ya, computers are like your best friends, there are days you love them, and then there are days.

Must be a Windows Vista PC.

This is why I’m an Apple Fan Boy all the way. No such urge exists to throttle my iMac.

Broomie just didn’t axe it the right query.

@JFri, before doing it in, try a free/libre OS from http://www.unbuntu.com or http://fedoraproject.org

You’ll need >= 512M ram and > 1Ghz cpu for current releases. There are also “damn small” and “puppy” distros for really old hardware (64M ram).

Aaron–you must not have been using Macs all that long. I love mine, and think it beats the heII out of a Windoze PC… but that just means I only have the urge to whack it with a hammer (“hit any key to continue”?) two or three times a day.

“Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie” said it best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d85p7JZXNy8 “From Microsoft to Macintosh, to Lin-Lie-Lin-Lie-Nux, Every computer crashes… ‘cause every OS sucks.”

Reminds me of a Garfield poster I saw in the ’80s, when home computers were starting to catch on: The cat approaches a computer while wielding a chainsaw, and the caption reads, “DOWNLOAD THIS!”

If they ever get cheap enough, this will be EVERY Microsoft PC the day after a new system is created.

What hacking? That’s just a Standard Diagnostic Reboot.

Every computer technician has an axe in his toolkit.
