64 degrees? What, Aunt Sofie didn’t knit you a sweater last Christmas? You don’t own another blanket? What do you think you are, on government fuel assistance?
flying a refueling mission in a C-130( same engines as the P-3) crew chief found cig butts on the deck and turned off the heat for a couple hours as punishment. it was not pleasant
it’s a word play on the word “Rankine” possibly sounding like the word “ranking” (or rankin’).
Rankine is a thermodynamic (absolute) temperature scale named after the Scottish engineer and physicist William John Macquorn Rankine, who proposed it in 1859.
Zero on both the Kelvin and Rankine scales is absolute zero, but the Rankine degree is defined as equal to one degree Fahrenheit, rather than the one degree Celsius used by the Kelvin scale. A temperature of −459.67 °F is exactly equal to 0 °R.
i hope i didn’t ruin it for someone who didn’t know that.
Considering that ottod’s post was directly after jtp’s which referenced another temperature scale, I’d say you probably don’t know what you’re talking about, Mr. Doty.
C’mon, Joe, it’s no nicer to disparage someone who’s more knowledgeable than you about something, than is is for folks to mock you for giving way too much information or answering questions that noone asked.

64 degrees would be much nicer than the 95 we’re expecting today here in Philly.

I prefer 20 C, ‘cause it’s the most comfortable and it’s a nice round number (that’s 68 F for those of you who like arbitrary units).

I prefer to set my thermostat to 296.48 degrees kelvin during the summer months.

If I was Rankine these posts, I’d put jtpozenel at the top.

You can’t have it both ways.
