Oliver is adorable. The others are just being what they are – cats. Still sick and fighting a cough.
Hilldale, the town the was flooded, is about 15 miles from me We go thru it on the way to Best Friends. Monday night, Susan, who lives out by the Hurricane airport, got drenched. We got maybe 2 min of rain. Yesterday, we got a few light sprinkles in the morning, where Brad said it rained all morning at the high school, which is about miles down the road. W live at the base of Zion NP. They get major snow and rain while we get zip. Cedar City, about 35 min north of here, gets regular winter weather snow, ice, etc. We get squat. If we DO get some snow, St George gest nothing.
The landscape around here is all peaks and valleys. Hurricane is in a valley surrounded by mountains. (Pine Valley Mnts, Zion and some others. We are referred to as the Hurricane Valley)
I originally posted this on August 30th but all the posts for that date are missing – so I’m re-posting it now.-—————When I was a kid we had a pet Manx Cat. The Manx as you may know came from the Isle of Man and have no tail, or maybe a very short one. We named her Hopscotch or Hoppy for short because she would hop like a rabbit. She gave us many hours of pleasure for 17 years before ascending to kitty heaven. In her early years she did manage to sneak out to bless us with a litter of adorable kitties. Some with tails. We never met the daddy, he was a travelin’ man. Needless to say that after that experience we had her “fixed”. We had no trouble giving the kittens away. I don’t have a photo of her handy, but I will attach one that could be her twin.
@Queen: Yes, these summer colds do seem to last quite long and just drain you. So, even chicken soup is forbidden, eh? Mark and I had KFC for lunch…I thought of you. Checked the mailing tape on that box you sent me…just purple and white swirls. My Oliver can be found napping in it day and/or night! Christopher can’t fit (LOL). BTW, the geography lesson was VERY informative as Mark wanted to know if and/or how you and Brad were affected by the flooding. We’ve glad you are safe but on the other hand you really need more moisture!
Queen, Hope you get better soon. I know how you feel. Been over my pneumonia for a couple of weeks and can’t seem to get rid of this nasty cough. Getting very tired of it.

Too bad Annie can’t trade a few of the other cats for a couple more like Oliver!

Oliver is the best-but Annie loves them all in spite of all their faults and shenanigans-just like a Mom.
