verne: how're we getting into the house? Rj: The cat door, of course. verne: What if the cat's on the other side? rj: so? It's just a cat. verne: Yes. an unholy beast that will scratch the smile off your face while it purrs. rj: I sense a childhood trauma story coming on. verne: you know, there's a reason there's no such things as a rescue cat.

There has been stories about cats warning their owners of danger…fire, choking baby, etc. Just this year, a cat saved her owner’s toddler from a dog who was attacking him. While I am a cat (and dog) person, the last panel did not upset me…I thought it was funny!

There may not be rescue cats. The closest you can get are cats that are taken around to senior homes for the residents to comfort.

It doesn’t matter how big the cat is, it’s no match for a full grown raccoon.

Dogs come when you call them, cats take a message and then decide if they’ll get back to you.

@Tom Flapwell You are right on about raccoons. They kept stealing the cat food, right out of the bag.

We see what we want to see. We hear what we want to hear. That’s why people can still insist that cats don’t care in spite of stories like this one:
