I was wondering when we were finally going to see a direct tribute. Rest in peace, Mr. Anderson.

Marmaduke one of my favorite comic strips. RIP Mr. Anderson and thanks for all the joy you brought with your paintbrush.

This is the first I heard of his passing as well. My sincerest condolences. I started around the late 80s myself, and loved each and every strip. Please pass on my condolences, and I hope the pen will be passed on to a team that does as good a job as he did.

Marmaduke was my father’s favorite comic. If I heard him chuckling before breakfast, I knew he had just read Marmaduke. RIP Mr. Anderson.

Wonderful tribute. A cup of coffee, the freshness of a new day, the morning comics in the newspaper (and now here). Many thanks to Mr. Anderson for the simple joy he brought with Marmaduke.

I have loved the Marmaduke strip since I was a little girl…I am glad it will go on! I think we all have a little “Marmaduke” in each one of us!

Brad was my first professional gag sale. He was a really good guy. He will be missed. Though I am sure Paul will continue the legacy.

Many thanks to Brad for the wonderful depiction of Great Danes. After reading Marmaduke for many years I studied up on the Great Dane and the only down side I could find was the amount of food they eat and the short life span. Last November and December my older parents lost both their Dobermans to old age and they were looking for a large breed sweet dog that was over 1 year old to adopt. I discussed Great Danes with them and contacted a local rescue about a 2 year old I had seen in foster care. The dog was brought over and it was love at first sight. He has been there 10 months now and is 165 lbs. He sleeps between them in the bed. The dog is now trained as a therapy dog and goes to hospitals, schools and libraries. This Great Dane came into my parents life because I read Marmaduke everyday. He gets my parents out of the house and is the best thing that has happened to them in a long time. So Brad your legacy will live on through our memories and your work. RIP

Oh, no! Are we going to lose this comic in the papers, now? Guess we’ll have to have the Marmaduke Classics just like we do for Nancy, Luann, Peanuts, and Wizard of Id.

You’re at home with the Lord now, Brad Anderson. Thanks forall you’ve done. You may be gone, but as you now pass the pen to a new generation, your legacy lives on.

I had not heard of his passing. Condolences to family and the many fans. A legacy to be proud of. I look forward to continuation of the strip.

God Bless Mr.Anderson.I have been a Marmaduke fan since I was a kid. Marmaduke acted so much like my own dogs,there was never a moment when I was not laughing at Marmaduke’s antics!!!

I am grateful for all the joy that he and Marmaduke brought through the years. My heartfelt condolences to Mr. Anderson’s family. Perhaps he and Charles Schultz are cartooning together in heaven. :-)

Brad Anderson was a lovely man. He visited his alma mater, Syracuse University, a few years back, and delighted the crowd and his fellow cartoonists. We still have a sketch of Marmaduke he drew for my son. He had a remarkable run, and will be missed.

I’d not heard this news. Very sorry for his family, and for comics lovers. This is a beautiful tribute.

A fantastic tribute. Panel six clearly says, “OK, son. It’s your turn now. Show ’em what you can do.”…On one hand, it’s sad to see Brad Anderson go. On the other hand, looking forward to see what Marmaduke does tomorrow…
