It’s their interpretation of “harming them” that’s a bit unpredictable. If I see the wasp and leave it alone, no problem. It’s the ones that are out of sight, that will misinterpret your actions as an attack and sting. E.g., I was cleaning windows and there was a wasp hiding in the curtains. It stung me on the wrist and my whole forearm swelled to to double the size.
And of course the ones that I see may fly around and land somewhere where I don’t see them until I bump into them or sit on them. So if I see one, I’ll leave it alone – until I’m sure of killing it on the first strike.
Yeah the trouble with wasps, hornets, yellow jackets etc. is they control the “what’s bothering them” factor and not you! And some of them have a low tolerance for what bothers them!

So I guess that “they won’t harm you unless you harm them”policy I mentioned yesterday (which was ignored) is a myth .
