I’d rather buy sardines than tomato sauce, too.

While I agree with Earl about stocking up, sardines are not my choice of staples! However, I agree with Opal about having sent him to the store for tomato sauce in the first place. I tell my husband I’m like the teacher in Charlie Brown shows - “Wah, wah, wah, wah,” is what Earl heard.

Earl had a one track mind moment. He saw the sardines before he saw the tomato sauce. He can have sardines to eat for a long time, and Opal; can get her own tomato saucve. I’d make him fix his own food “Sardines”

Earl needs a cell phone. That’s the ONLY way my DH returns home with whatever it is he was sent to fetch. I’d have canceled that order for 12 cans of sardines, too!

I am sure Opal wants the tomato sauce for making a spaghetti with the sauce. Sardines! Earl must be out of his mind to get that kind of sardines for sale. Oh my goodness!

My father used to eat the sardines with crackers and stinky cheese (I could not recall the brand name for stinky cheese. I think something starts with L__???). I despised that stinky cheese, even he touched the stinky cheese with his hands that smelled horrible. GEEEZZZ! EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

My latest copy of Yankee magazine has an article about the closing of one of the last of the few sardine packing companies around. So Earl is wise to stock up. I bought them for my husband, but he agreed to eat them on the porch and throw the cans in the garbage can outside. Yes, I’m an OKIE and I read Yankee Mag.

My kids (4 & 7 yo) love sardines. In fact they had sardine sandwiches today. I can eat them if they’re in a thick crusty bread so that I don’t think about what’s inside. But it also took me a while to like tuna salad.

I eat a can of sardines just about every day. They’re good brain food (I think).

wildmustang…someone put limberger cheese on top of my parents’ model A radiator before they left on their honeymoon. (back in the 20s). I guess that story made the name of that cheese stick in my mind.
