At least I can keep my five stepsisters’ names (and their faces) straight.

Dreary—sorry, Dierdre—looks like a proto-hippy. I’d guess that she is the fourth-grade sister, one year older than Andre and Petey, who are in third grade.Having four sisters, three of them older than he is, goes far toward explaining Andre’s propensity for loud noises and explosions….

“Dreary” would be quite an apposite nickname for Diedre of the Sorrows.

My brother has four sisters, all of whom are older than he is. When he was in third grade we were in 12th, 11th, 10th and 9th grades.

I have a sister a year older. She has Mrs. P in 2nd grade, then I did. Mrs. P then switched to 4th grade in time to catch my sister the next year, and then me again. As far as I can remember, though, we never interacted in school: different worlds.

To a third-grade boy, isn’t “Dierdre” correctly pronounced “Dreary”?

To a third grade boy, his sister’s name is pronounced whatever way he knows will irritate her most!

Richard Thompson must REALLY like the name Diedre.

@Andre, I have more sisters than you do.
