That was the punch line for a famous joke from Myron Cohen. A man comes home before his wife expects he will, while she is entertaining her boy friend.
Hearing his key in the door the man grabs his clothes and goes to hid in the closet, while the wife tries to pretend she is alone.
The husband rightfully jealous accuses his wife of infidelity and refuses to believe her denials.
He then commences to search the house and eventually finds the other man in the closet. The man then asks the other man hiding what he is doing there. That man replies, Everybody gotta be some place.
