Thanks for assuming I’ve been living under a rock.

I prefer snapping my fingers to get my wife’s attention. She has her own ways of payback….all’s fair in love and war.

In the words of Danny Trejo: “Machete don’t text.”

I see Arlo and Janis went to Blondie’s Halloween Party. Janis’ outfit needs some work, though.

Our son and his wife just went out of state. They showed us how to follow them on their trip by way of an on line map on our tablets. We were able to text them. Once their car didn’t move for a very long time, I texted…they replied “stuck in traffic, road work!” which eased our minds. They texted upon destination arrival. We have a video connection set up, and can talk whenever they call, free. Snail mail would be SLOW and we wouldn’t SEE them. We would miss them more than we do this way. Not all electronic messaging is bad and evil, not all note taking on tree based note paper with wood based pencils is good. (I am an artist and use a lot of pencils and paper, so don’t yell at me for that comment.). I’m just saying texting can be a GOOD thing..like if I’m in the store, and fall, and need my hubby, who is in the car.

Back in ’61, it was a roadside rotary phone that needed dimes, quarters and nickels near Terre Haute in the midst of a Xmas snowstorm that helped me let Ma know that I might be slightly late for dinner, for I only had 750 miles more to go, the AM radio weather reports were dismal and she had no idea where Terre Haute was and expected me in just a few hours. Somehow, it was all my fault. In retrospect, having a crazy person for a parent was FUNNNNNN !

unclebob53703That line never made sense to me as a trombonist. I do precisely that in order to get a sound. Without the instrument, putting lips together and blowing is called a raspberry or Bronx cheer. Faulkner should have known better (screen writer, she wasn’t even in Hemingway’s short story).
