Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for October 15, 2015

Transcript:
Arlo: Sounds like Saturday at the sorority house!
Janis: We're catching up!
Janis: How do you think I'd look with gray hair?
Arlo: Now, why would you color your hair gray?
Robin: I'd keep him!
Janis: How could I give up those brown eyes?
Teens are doing that now, they dye their hair gray. Madonna’s kid Lourdes did it last summer. It’s the newest craze, looking like an old lady. I hope it’s still in style in the next 20 years when I have a full head of grays.
Blond guys like Arlo go from “gold” to “silver” so gradually that the change is almost imperceptible. That’s hard to depict in a comic strip with limited coloring capabilities.
At a family gathering I once seriously remarked about how odd that though all six kids started out blond, only my brother and I turned brown. Laugh riot ensued.
I went grey in my 40s. But with my family lineage, I will likely remain fully “stuck” in the “intermediate zone”…. evenly distributed grey, white, brown, with a few red and black scattered about. No one in my family ever went to all white, none of us stayed dark long. just this oddly intermediate mix.
My “sweetie” had oral surgery which caused her face to turn black and blue….she said she looked like a monster….I told her she was the most beautiful monster I’d ever seen…..hope she keeps me!!
My maternal grandmother had jet-back hair (all natural) with no gray at all when she died in her late 70s. My mother had dark auburn hair with maybe only 5% gray when she died at 89. Unfortunately, I seem to take more nearly after Mom’s uncles, who also kept their color but who had (completely unsuccessful) comb-overs. :(
I’m starting to go gray, but what’s odder is that my hair is getting curlier the older I get. It was very curly as a baby and I’ve had a strong wave since. But now, I’m going Little Orphan Annie.

Not nice, Janis…saying he’s so full of it his eyes are brown. :-)

If Robin thinks that Arlo is a keeper maybe Janis should keep her eyes on Robin. Janis may have another mule kicking in her stall.

Why not Arlo? Janis just wants to add a little spice to life by exploring 50 shades of gray hair.

Not gray, but platinum blonde might be sexy.

I’m still looking forward to the day this strip is just called “Arlo” or maybe “Arlo and Ludwig.”

I am so tall, thin and pale that if I let me hair go grey, I’d resemble a Q-tip. Instead, I masquerade as a lampstand with a red shade.
