    Teach us Well

You who are off the road must have a code That you can live by. And so become yourself And show us all that you’re a good guy

So wear your boxers well Cause what the h e l l We’ll never know why You dance in nighttime’s yard It must be hard but we know you must try.

Don’t you ever tell us why If you told us, we would cry So just look at us and sigh And know we love you

With more or less sincere apologies to Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

Good thing the Cliffords have a convertible for the drive-in. The chair on top is an extra touch!

I never realized how word balloons can block the view of the screen! Sorry back there!

It looks as if the Cliffords are taking in Bassetzilla at the drive-in. No wonder Cleo was angling to go out.

Cleo must also be blocking the screen for the folks behind in addition to the speech balloons.

    Wow… this one is great!

Unless you’re sitting behind Cleo, of course…

for the July 6th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”

I never thought about the opacity of word balloons either, at the drive in or in the theater… or for that matter, on the comics.

Mine must be particularly egregious here on Cleo!

Sorry if I’ve ever blocked any of you from reading the strip.

I suppose I wouldn’t block “Cleo & Co.”, cos that’s in another window, right?

OK, sorry if I’ve ever blocked your view of the 10-year-old Ballard Street.

Cleo probably has no problem with that…

she not only has the most unblockable view…

I don’t think, she’s really as interested in the screen as other patrons are anyway….

    (I almost said "other people " … but she’s not a people.)

    She comes for the food.

Oh… she watches the movie, no doubt…. but she’s more interested in what’s right in front of her face..

Now, if a word balloon ever gets between her mouth and her popcorn, her kibblecorn, her Milk Duds… her hot dog…. her pizza…. you get the picture…

“Bassetzilla” will have nothing on Cleo Clifford.

BTW… if the Cliffords are blocking your view…

There’s a duplicate screen right here:

I think Claude and Clara were being very thoughtful…….Where else would Susan and I get a chance to see a movie and hide behind a chair at the same time.
